The English language is a West Germanic language, part of the Indo-European family, and widely spoken globally. It is characterized by its rich vocabulary, which has incorporated words from various languages throughout its history, and a relatively flexible grammatical structure. The four systems of language are grammar, vocabulary, phonology, and discourse.

Nouns, verbs, adjectives, and adverbs often have unique word endings, called suffixes. Looking at the suffix can help to distinguish the word from other parts of speech and help identify the function of the word in the sentence.    Linguists have identified five basic components (phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, and pragmatics) found across languages.

Social studies is an essential field of study that helps individuals understand the world around them, how societies operate, and how they can contribute to positive social change. Christian Religion Knowledge refers to the study of Christianity, its beliefs, practices, history, and impact on society, aiming to foster understanding and spiritual growth. For effective teaching to take place adequate considerations must be given to the teacher‟s skill, the learners‟ preparedness to learn, the teaching and learning environment, and the curriculum in addition to such external variables as government education policies, supervision/ monitoring exercise. These factors combine to give rise to effective teaching of any subject at whatever level of education. Effectiveness of Christian Religious Knowledge (CRK) teaching becomes very important when one considers the indispensable position of the discipline in human socio-cultural, economic, spiritual and moral development. This feat is acknowledged by Federal Republic of Nigeria (2004) which placed Religious Studies as one of the core subjects in Group A at the Senior Secondary level. This is probably because Religion goes a long way to determining individual behaviour and aspiration, which in turn determines not only developmental strides of the society but also its internal harmony.
